JobSearch 101- 6 weeks guided job hunting.

Currently, finding a job is harder than it has ever been. The job market is very competitive and overly saturated with fully qualified candidates. Due to the economic recession caused by the pandemic most companies are laying off staff, not hiring. For that reason the few opportunities that arise are being met with very severe competition. 

In Nairobi currently, statistics show that each vacant post attracts hundreds of applicants. That means your chance at any given application is less than 1%.

This means then that for you to get a job you really have to stand out for you to even be shortlisted for an interview.

I will help you design a sharp, eye-catching CV and cover letter that is irresistible to the eyes of recruiters.

I’ll also show you how to stand out on different social media platforms- Personal branding is key.

iii) Show you the most effective job hunting tactics in current job market: If you want quick results you have to learn a few contemporary job hunting techniques. Sending CVs blindly doesn’t work anymore in this day and age. I will show the current job hunting methods that are more likely to deliver results.

iv) Show you how to interview like a pro: There is no need to have a nicely crafted CV if you will flop like a fish in front of the interview panel. I’ll teach you interviewing techniques that will boost your confidence to face any panel of interviewers that you encounter. I will also take you through very simple but effective ways to answer the most common interview questions. Then I'll give you an opportunity to do two mock interviews using specific questions you should expect in a normal interview and guide you on how to answer them correctly.

v) Guide you through setting achievable job hunting goals: I will teach you how to use the quality over quantity method of job hunting.

vi) Winning the Inner game: Over and above working on your work goals, I will help you with tools to understand your internal barriers to a successful job search and how to overcome them.

This program takes 6 weeks. We meet one hour per week, in this hour we review previous week’s goals, we set goals for the coming week and I give you some assignments to complete in the coming week.
